Title: Library sharing
Post by: RonD on April 12, 2002, 05:38:58 pm
Is there any way of sharing a library over a network?  I thought you could do this in earlier versions, but I no longer see it.  I have MJ on two networked computers with the music residing on one, and would like to share one common library rather than having to constantly having to maintain two seperate ones.  I tried opening a library over the network, but get caught in a error message loop saying critical error: media jukebox failed to open the database file 'playlistx.jmd' for saving, (a file could be read only or corrupt).  I click on OK but the message keeps coming back, finally I have to close MJ in order to eliminate it.  I have double checked to make sure the files and folders are not marked as read only, but to no avail. I am running beta version 8.0.248.  Any suggestions?

Thanks, using Music 01 as the server works great, I can access my main library over the network with no problem, it works great.  Only question now, does anyone know why if there is a way of having the cover art from my main library show up?  Is there some special setup or is it not possible? This is the only thing keeping me from having exactly what I what over the network, please say it is possible.
