Title: File Types- Automatic or JRiver Engine or ??

I don't understand the options between Automatic and the other settings-specifically the JRiver Engine settings., Cuttting to the question, which is the best setting for saving files either in FLAC or APE.

You should leave them all as 'Automatic', unless you're trying to fix a specific problem.

Those options were more important, particularly for video, before Red October (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Red_October).

For audio, there's rarely, if ever, a reason to switch engines.
