I'm planning to built a DIY multi-room audio setup in a flat. I already have 6x2 Sonance ceiling speakers with audio cables running to the small server room. I was planning to use Russound 6 zones amplifier (R1250MC) along with rack mounted server and M-Audio Delta 1010 sound card. It all looks very sweet on the hardware side but it looks like the options are very limited on the software side. All I want front the setup is to act a 6 UPnP MediaRenderes and have the ability to link zones together. I know that with JRiver can do all that but it looks like a overkill with all other functionality.
Has anybody come across the software solution that's only purpose is create multiple MediaRenderers (Zones) and map them to a particular sound card port?
