Title: Audio CD - Something went wrong with Playback - Plays fine WMP - *Solution found
Post by: fluidz on January 04, 2013, 10:37:54 am
I've put in one of my old 2002 trance cd's and i just can't JRiver to play it, i can hear the drive attempt to read the disc and then the error pops up.
The cd plays fine using Windows media player.

I tried unticking "use digital playback" and used file > quick play, this allows the audio to play, but only half a second of track 1, skips to track 3, half a second playback, skips to track 5, half a second playback.. skips all the way through the tracks and then ends!
If I try playing the cd from "Drives and Devices" which is the normal way, from the left pane, I see the same "something went wrong with playback" message, for each track i try to play.

I'm using Windows 8. JRiver 8 build 18.0.94. Playback : Asio.

Until this is fixed i'm forced to use other programs for playback of Audio CD's :(

I just installed a new HP Blu ray drive, and playback works fine!
Must be the drive, funny that, as the tracks play first time in WMP using the old drive.
