Title: Can't get MC18 to run in Windows 8 [Solved by disabling security software]

I have a interesting problem. I can not get MC 18 to run in my new Windows 8 Pro  with Windows Media Center install. It works fine on my Windows 8 laptop but I only get this app wont run on this pc and to contact the company. I have installed the newest video drivers I could find for Alienware Aurora. It will run MC 17 perfectly but no joy on MC 18. Anyone have some suggestions or words of wisdom. This really has me baffled. ?

Well the great mystery is solved. I really feel like an idiot. I had thought I had tried already to run MC18 with my malware program disabled but I was wrong. Works like a champ now. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
