Title: squeezbox +windows7+mc18=no work
Post by: capthank on January 08, 2013, 10:14:32 am
My xp computer failed. New windows 7 computer works fine with mc18.However logitech squeezbox duet does not.

Logitech tec support States: I need to uninstall mc18 to make squeeze server work,Then reinstall mc18.

Does this make sense?

Thanks Dave

We use Whitebear here with our squeezebox disabling the LMS DLNA server and using Whitebear instead.

I use MC with LMS (not Whitebear) and it works perfectly - LMS works independently and MC can send stuff to Logitech devices using DLNA. Admittedly I have SB Radios, Touches (and squeezeplay on my PCs), not a Duet, but I suspect your problem is not simply down to MC.

I'm guessing the uninstall/reinstall advice is to simply set the Windows firewall correctly.  This is simpler advice for users to follow, and relatively painless to follow.

If you know how to configure the Windows firewall to allow the required traffic for DLNA, you could just do that.

Regardless, Whitebear is the way to go.
