Every now and then we like to show our appreciation to those MJ/MC users who contribute to this forum by helping others. So, we decided that we would give free MJ T-shirts to 20 (or so) deserving Interact contributors.
If you'd like to nominate someone, please post a message here giving the individual's name and we'll do our best to send them an MJ T-shirt in time for the spring thaw.
Many thanks for your continued support and encouragement.
The MJ/MC Team

I'd like to add that we're looking for your recommendations on people who have gone out of their way to help others here. If you can think of a few, please say so. I can think of a lot of people, but this is your call.
And .... you can't nominate yourself. ;)
Thanks.

I Agree With Your xen-uno Nominee.

I Agree With Your xen-uno Nominee.
Personally, Rob and Steve both go the extra mile with respectable post towards users needing serious answers to serious problems.
They should both be in the running. M.O., if it means anything.
Oh, and you should probably get one, just because. ;D
-
i will vote for the people that help me and help other users besides JimH and MJ/MC team i vote for:
KingSparta
Xen-Uno
Zevele
MachineHead
Don't remember more now :-[

Good names so far.
I'm nominating Chicoselfs for one free V9 license. We'll give five. Any names? How about the Russian who was trying to crack our license?

How about the Russian who was trying to crack our license?
I think not

>> I'm nominating Chicoselfs for one free V9 license.
If i am not mistaken zevele Has A MJ8 License
And with everything he has gone thru last year and again today with todays bombing it might be nice.
-
We'll give him our first V10 license if that's true.
-
We'll give him our first V10 license if that's true.
If you heard the album he sent me as a house-warming gift, you might retract that statement. :P
-
Just had an epiphany! I think.
Nila should get one also, with the condition that he keeps his requests under 40,000 words. heh heh heh...
Sorry Nila. J/K!

This is tough...many a good, helpful folk here.
Of the swingers mentioned so far and that still peruse the v8 forum...
My (non-staff) top 5 (with observations) of frequent posters would be...
the Machine: he and I are like brothers of steel, though his choice of lossy format is disturbing (so he's like a half brother)
the King: his solutions (often) are ultra compact yet brimming with content (no fluff here)...funny poster. His love for WMA though...is baffling ( I have to assume that since he's never stated what his favorite is)
the 'sauce: Deep...knows his stuff
zev: his posts are articulate and easy to understand, puts things in layman's terms
'selfs: solid on help but a maniac on MPC (forgivable since he's got a few ogg's)
and favorite Staffer...
JimH: can be knee slappingly funny in one post...yet can turn serious as hell on the next...(I've always wondered how he can turn it on and off so quickly without any apparent pyschological damage to himself)
10-27
edit: forgot about Cmagic...he's "there" too

OK
i fell Laaazy to think hard:
Xen-Uno first and by far
KingSparta, allways here
And one i do not remember his name: he is doing outstanding job on the TV part problems.
Of cause , many more , but as i said Laaa.....
Thank you to think about me in such a nice manner - i mean it-
But i do not want any free license.
Why?
Because i am part of the not so young here who can easily afford it.
If JRiver wants to give away some licences it has to be to students or one of us out of job, or people having problems cause with the change it makes big money.
King
I am an old customer , i started with 7- You know the one who had a SLEEVES BASED VISU.......
I bought a 9 licence under the special offer in october or november.
By the way ,this people at JRiver , they are very cool. Really
How about the Russian who was trying to crack our license?
I missedthis one
But if the fact that having a real licence does not help him to broke the system , yes i would give one to him.
This would be just CRAZY_GREAT

Although I am pretty new to the forum, I appreciate very much the atmosphere that this community has created and find most of the threads to be very interesting for the users who, like myself, are or have been at some point new to the software. This atmosphere is also encouraging to try to help most novice users when possible.
There are many people who contribute to that atmosphere... beside the JRiver guys. People like King, Zev, ChicoSelfs, Nila, Xen-Uno... most of them have been already mentioned in this thread.
If I may, I would like to nominate "CMagic" also. His posts are always very kind, with plenty of not only very useful information, but suggestions to enjoy MediaJukebox or MediaCenter and to take advantage to all its features.
Thank you very much to all of you.
-
>> His love for WMA though...is baffling
Love?
Where did that come from?
but the New Windows Media Player 9 With The New VBR Encoding Is Better Than MP3 VBR, And They Do Have Lossless Encoding Now.
I don't use them I just tried them.
I use MP3 since that is what My MP3 Player Plays In My Car, Portable, And It Is Commonly Used.
At 51Yrs Old I can't hear The Dif, Shoot i can't hear my wife half the time. this is due to my ears or i just don't want to. i am not quite sure of that one.
I think what ever works at the time.
My wife is going to Best Buy Today to buy 3 Or 4 DVDs she asked me if i wanted anything. I told her a Tivo, i don't think she will pick one up.
-
Yup Cmagic too have my vote ( how many times we can vote ? )
Xen-uno i have a few Vorbis ogg's that's true but i love this format
( GT3 )

Hi,
That's the way it it at JRiver's. The Mineapolis gang really appreciate their customers, users and forum contributors. We all know that. The most obvious proof of their involvment lies in the speed at which bugs or new features (sensible ones !) are added in MJ/MC. Nikolay, Matt, Steve, John, everyone there make sure that MC becomes 'THE' media player/organizer and that it fulfills all its user's needs. So they are my first vote : The JRiver crew.
Also let's not forget Lise that used to be very active. She's probably busier now, but she made a tremendous contribution to MJ8.
I would also nominate ZRocker, ChicoSelf, xen-1 & MachineHead not forgetting Gatorbit, Rhinobanga and mhorton and all the others...
But, man, to day the interact member list is rich of 4606 members, that's quite a figure !
And last but not least I would give a special mention to KingSparta and Zev, their contributions always add some spice and make the JRiver forum an interesting place to waste some time every day.
Have a nice day, or evening !

...she asked me if i wanted anything. I told her a Tivo, I don't think she will pick one up.
I'm not one for jumping on the newest tech toys, but my friend got one for Xmas, and it's amazing. I really, really, really want one. Unfortunately, I need a new TV and hi-fi receiver first. Oh, and a job to pay for all of it. :)
Anway, here's my list of names:
KingSparta
zevele
xen-uno
MachineHead
ChicoSelfs
NoCodeUK
bennyd
michel
ZRocker
RemyJ
Charlemagne 8
Nila
Xstatic

I would say my top guys for help would be King Sparta, Doof and Nila for helping me with particular problems. And for those who have helped others pretty much all the other guys mentioned :) Nila, King and Zev's posts always keep me entertained as well as HTH's and to Jim H for keeping everything in order...!!
(Also a quick mention to phatphreddy who is very helpful when he pops in!!)
And thanks for the vote rocketsauce...I feel very proud :-[ Being a relative n00b and all!! ;D
Keep up the great work JRiver...without you guys providing such great software and support there would be nothing to vote for!!!

The one person I think who truly deserves these accolades is Nila. While long winded and full of ideas (at least 93% good ones too) Nila is always helpful, never unkind or shows any signs of contempt, attitude or pretense. We can all learn something from Nila's example.

What a glorious love-fest...
I nominate me ;)
