Title: How To Test A Burned CD For Quality?
Post by: Alonso Nefarious on April 11, 2002, 12:45:43 pm
Does anybody know of a tool that will do a good job testing a burned disk?

I burned a disk and got some pop's and stuff, but to find them I had to listen to the whole thing.  Not fun.

So how about a tool that will compare the .cda's on a disk to, say, the .wav's they were burned from?

Idealy it would report missing/different samples and lengths.

Nero has a "Check CD" feature, but it did not detect the problems, because the disk was burned properly, just not well.

EAC has a "Compare .WAVs" feature, but: 1)It only checks a file at a time 2)You have to rip the files from the CD before it will check them, and 3)The results are hard to interprate.

The tool would preferably be small, close to purpose built, and cheap.  IE an expensive audio editor is not what I'm looking for.
