Title: ISO files not playing
Post by: crawf1982 on January 12, 2013, 06:24:53 am
Hi All,

We are new to JRiver, but having read reviews etc, installed the program yesterday.

We have been through the setup stage in the Wiki ISO page: http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/ISO_Files

We have always handled ISOs with Virtual Clone Drive and played them with Total Media Theatre and have not had any issues.

Although we have got MC to work with physical DVDs (so that they auto play when put in the drive), the same does not happen when we double click ISOs in MC. They show as being mounted in VCD (on drive J), but when we go to 'Drives and Devices' it does not show J as having a disc, nor does it autoplay.

Can anyone help please? This seems like such a good piece of software, but this bit is not working for some reason.

Thanks,

Dave & Sam

Hi JimH,

Thanks but as I mentioned, we used the link and have been through the steps.

MC does not play or even see the mounted ISOs.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sam

MC doesn't itself mount .iso, it relies on Windows having VCD set as the default program to open for such files. You need to set the file association in Windows.

ISOs are set to be associated to VCD. It's mounting them when we try to load in MC but not autoloading despite being set up to do so.

Yeah, sorry I didn't read your first post properly. Don't know what to say other than I'd certainly be looking into why MC does not appear to show drive J as having anything mounted. I suspect if you solve that auto play would work just fine.

Thanks Jong. Yep, agree with you.  Anyone got any ideas?
