Converting FLAC to ALAC causes MC 18.0.106 to crash. Sending ALAC file to directory outside of MC (for import to Itunes).
Suggesttions?
-
Please update to 18.0.112 from the top of this board.
If it still crashes, please send a sample file that causes the crash to yaobing at jriver dot com, and include a link to this thread.
Thanks.

Still crashing after update and reinstall.
Is that supposed to be an e-mail address?
-
Yes, its an email address. It is posted that way to avoid email-culling bots.

Sent Library files via email and hoping for reply.
I can get MC to convert a thousand or so files from FLAC to ALAC before MC crashes, and will not resume or convert any more files without a uninstall/reinstall. SOmething seems wrong here.

Thanks for sending the library backup files. However, if you can identify which audio file (in FLAC) caused the crash, it would be better if you can send me that audio file (and that was what Matt asked you to send).
-
I can not reproduce a crash trying to convert from FLAC to ALAC, with my limited number of FLAC audio files. I hope you can isolate a file that caused the crash and send it to me. Short of that, I would like to see a log file.
-
I don't think is was a single file. I think it was that after a number of files - a thousand or so - things accumulated and crashed.
If you can tell me how to send you some output or log file, I'll run another group of files and send it along.
I used dbpoweramp and converted 61k files yesterday, with no problems.

To send log,
1. Make sure logging is turned on (Help > Logging..., ensure "Output to log file" is checked).
2. Restart MC and perform tasks that lead to crash.
3. Restart MC and immediately go to Help > Logging..., and click "Report Problem...". It will package the files on your Desktop.
4. Email the zip file to yaobing at jriver dot com

I'll run a batch tonight. Thanks for the directions.
