Here you go! ;D
iMon VFD

This is the latest version.
If you have an iMon LCD Front Panel:

Haven't tried this one, because i have no iMon LCD Display.
If your topic is correct, you need the first one.

Amazing, il try it when i get home

Any idea what the difference is between a VFD and and LCD, Everything i've looked at seems to use the terms interchangably?
-
iMon LCD has only 1 text line,iMon VFD has 2 text lines.
If you have an iMon LCD please read the lines below, too.
@WeeHappyPixie
You have to install the old VFD plugin version first (mib4755),then copy the files from my first post (iMon LCD) and overwrite all files in the plugin folder.
Old Plugin: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=63181.msg503646#msg503646
The .zip file contains also the setup.exe not only the source code.
I think the new plugin version from dean70 won't work with iMon LCD Plugin Files from Sunfire.
MC Board Member "Sunfire" edited the plugin version from "mib4755".

I have 2 lines so VFD :)
I dont get this iMon app at all?
I have installed it on my Music Server and am worried it will interfere with audio playback, i only want to provide the VFD with track info but iMon trys and take over all media playback by the looks of it!
I installed the plugin, in iMon i can see foobar but nothing for JRiver, once you install the plugin, whats the next step?
Thanks for the help StuckMojo, really appreciate it

Just gave the machine a reboot, just in case
Got an information box on startup stating
Interface plug-in 'IMON VFD' could not be found or created
I've checked and there is a IMON VFD folder n the JRiver Plugins folder

Newest Soundgraph iMon Software installed? V8.12.1202
In iMon options (Software from Soundgraph) are the two Plugin Modes enabled?
First of all,one thing is good:
The Plugin runs ok with MC.But the Communication between the Plugin and iMon Software doesn't work right now.
You need to activate the Plugin Modes in iMon Manager. And update your iMon Software.
-
Got it working!!
Re-read the thread and realised i didnt have .net4 installed
Then got an error message saying MC18 and iMon weren't talking, rebooted and got Track and artist which i've wanted to setup for over a year! v happy
I have it set to scroll at 150 which is a nice speed, just wish it was possible to add a few seconds delay after the track name had completed a scroll, that way it isn't quite as distracting.
Really happy overall though, what a great plugin!
-
Oh sorry, totally forgot to tell you, that .NET V4 has to be installed. ?
-
StuckMojo - do you happen to know an easy way in iMon Manager to have it output something anything to the LCD to test if that part of it is working ?
I get responses from the on-screen remote control icon on my Windows screen (to remote button presses), but I have yet to get anything from the LCD itself...
Thanks !
-
Did you try this combination?
-First install the Plugin from mib4755
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=63181.msg503646#msg503646
The .zip file contains also the setup.exe not only the source code.
-Then Copy and overwrite the edited files from Sunfire7 for iMon LCD in the MC 18 iMon Plugin Folder.

I can't test,i don't have an iMon LCD.But it should work.
Update iMon Software to V8.12.1202.Activate Plugin Modes in iMon Software.
And...Install .NET Framework V4 + Updates before. :)

I meant to test the iMon LCD without JRiver - just test that the hardware works ?
Is there any easy way in the iMon Manager to do that ?
(Something to verify that a lack of display is not a hardware problem)
-
Oh,but there not much to test.On Windows start, it should display windows informations. That's Standard. Look in iMon Software settings. You can choose what else you want to see in the display.
If it doesn't display anything, then there is definitely something wrong. But it could be also a driver related and not a hardware problem. If that's the point, any other "hardware" tests will also fail.
Uninstall driver,Re-Install->Test.
The uncomfortable way: Fresh Windows & driver Install->Test.
Never had any problems with the display for over 3 Years now, with XP and Win 7 x64.
