Title: Delete files permanently in MC 16
Post by: sparker366 on January 15, 2013, 11:00:43 am
When I highlight a set of files I want to delete it always pops up a box that ask me to delete from the library delete to recycle bin delete permanently and there is then a selection to do this all the time. I can't select that. I am browsing the library in file view seeing pathname and fileaname and such. I would like to have it either delete to recycle bin or delete permanently but it won't allow me to set this.

At this time I can't afford to update to another version as I am unemployed but really would like to avoid having to make this selection every time I delete files.

If you hold Shift+Delete while deleting, it will do a permanent delete (it remembers the last Recycle vs Delete mode selected).

Does that help?

That is better but I would like to maybe not have to confirm the deletion but if I can't then no worries.

There's no completely silent delete.

But [Shift+Delete] then [Enter] should work, which goes pretty fast if you're used to it.
