Its an MCC command:

    25016   MCC_TREE_SET_EXPANDED   0: collapsed; 1: expanded

    mc18.exe /mcc 25016,0

sorry kurushi. then it is not clear to me what you mean.

indeed maybe mcc commands. as MrC suggests. then mc18.exe /mcc 25016,0 is CTRL + G

Can an MCC command have a local network address ?

Something like:

\\MEDIA-PC\MC18.exe /mcc  25016,0

?

Control MC18 on Media PC from my web browsing laptop without having to run an entire MC18 on the laptop.

then that wont work. but there are more options then running an 'entire' mc 18. although the client is nice. check out webgizmo.. i think. i dont use it. but might be just what you are after.

I don't think a browser can generally invoke a process.

You can do this via command line, launching a remote command, via tools such as psexec:

Seems it is not possible, at least one assumes due to lack of a definitive affirmation:

im not sure.. i used this gizmo thingy, i think its called. on my android and it controls playback on the server. and it works, play/pause. not using it, because i dont need, i use the remote, nonetheless i expect the web gizmo might do the same. :)

i just tested it and it works, pause play over the web. but you cant configure it to close the tree on the server i guess. hmmm  ?

Thx for the reply gappie.

For the other question i don't see why to install mc18 on you're laptop is a problem?

I thought the question was about something else.  {Web}Gizmo is just sending pre-defined HTTP commands to the server and the server does its thing.   I thought the question was about having a browser instantiate a process (e.g. a shell) to launch a command.  This is what can't be done (directly).

i know MrC. and you are right.  :) but this was 'part' of the question. and you can not do those thing running an 'entire' mc18 on the laptop either. so i guess the poster was not after that. :)

Control MC18 on Media PC from my web browsing laptop without having to run an entire MC18 on the laptop.

edit: and the thread got a bit away of the question of the OP. :)

Can WebGizmo use Global Key shortcuts ?

Can WebGizmo use Global Key shortcuts ?

This one I responded to yesterday I think.  MC's global shortcuts would target a running MC, not a web browser.  You'd have to use the browser's shortcuts, whatever they may be.  Or some hotkey management software.
