Title: Which type of server?

DLNA or Library and why? I would like to be able to play MC content from other devices on the home network. Should I turn on DLNA?

Use LS if you have other PCs and want to run MC on them also, and share libraries.

Use DLNA when you have other DLNA-enabled devices and you want to have MC push media files to the device, or have the device pull media files from MC.

Both are enabled with you enable Media Network.
