Title: Playing Movie audio through HDMI but CDs through MoBo Sound
Post by: VetMed on January 21, 2013, 05:05:28 pm
I have a russound distributed audio system in the house but my receiver will/can not send HDMI audio signal through the RCA out jacks.   I can get sound through analog jacks by them selves and the HDMI but not Both.  Is this possible?    Do I need to get a more capable Receiver?  Any suggestions?

I use win 7 64

I went through just about the same thing when I set up my HTPC. Switching audio outputs in W7 is a pain and I couldn't find any way to send audio out multiple outputs at the same time. I was turned on to this http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=5557&seq=1&format=2 and it is working for me. It allows simultaneous HDMI and optical and coax audio. I have the HDMI for my TV room and another output for the multizone.

Use Zones for multiple outputs.  The wiki has information on zones.

Cool. I'm new to MC and going to try this out. I'd love to get rid of the extraneous splitter.
