MC Version .120
CD Rip to FLAC, 8X, Encode after rip, eject disk when done.
After final track is ripped, disk ejects and an error window pops up stating there is no disk inserted. options ignore, retry, continue.
No apparent problem with actual ripped tracks.
This happened with the first two CDs ripped after going from .112 to .120, never happened with prior versions.

I've seen this Windows error dialog as well. It happened when I was running the regular build, now I'm trying to reproduce the error in a debug build but it's not happening. If you come up with a set of steps that always cause this dialog to be shown, let me know. Thanks.

so far it seems to happen for me after each rip.
I have a couple more CDs to rip today, I did a re-boot, launched MC and did nothing other than insert a CD and begin the rip.
same issue.
I have now selected "encode concurrently with rip" to see if that makes any difference.
'will report back anything significant I can come up with.
-
oh, I just noticed, if I insert a CD for ripping, and instead of initiating the rip, I simply eject the CD, (Right Clik on the CD Icon in MC and select Eject) the same error pops up. This happens every time.
-
I can't get this to occur on my system. I'll keep trying.
-
Since you can easily reproduce the problem...
If you have the time and inclination, you could install some older builds to try to see where this problem started. In your "appdata" install folder you probably have several installers (it's at C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 18\Install on my system). Install the oldest one, if the problem goes away, keep installing the next newer one until the problem comes back. Knowing which build the problem appeared in would make it much easier to debug. I certainly understand if you don't want to bother - we'll keep looking for a solution regardless.

no problem at all! I like to help whenever I can!
just went back to .112 the problem does not occur now.
.112 was the last version I had before 120, I don't think there were any public releases between .112 and 120??? right?
looks like a lot of changes between .112 and .120
I noticed a few mentions of "ripping" etc. in some of the bug fixes list ( I don't have blu ray drive, just a single DVD as drive D: )
Fixed: CD ripping crashes due to internal messaging system changes.
Fixed: In some cases MC would report zero files on a valid Blu-ray disc in rip action window.
Fixed: Ripping multiple movie discs (DVD/Blu-ray) would sometimes show outdated information from the previous disc in the rip progress action window.

I placed the intermediate versions here (in case you have time to test them):

Let me know if you find the build that breaks it. Thanks!

.117 works fine, as do .115 and .114
.118 bad, and as a reality check, .119 bad also.
after .119 confirmed bad, I went back to .117 and no problem.
-
Thanks for all the testing so far.
Would you be willing to test this one as well:

122 does still have the "disk not inserted warning" for me.
-
Issue remains in .126
-
issue remains in .128.
It's a very minor issue, so I'm hesitant to keep mentioning it. I won't continue to beyond the .128 release.
-
This is driving me nuts also.
Happens each time I insert and remove a disc or after a rip is complete.
On my htpc, running theater view, I've only seen the problem once so not sure why the difference there.
