Title: Question for JRiver
Post by: Birdie on April 10, 2002, 05:41:02 am
I already posted this question before but only got an answer from King Sparta.Would like to hear your answer/opnion too.
Will a licence for MJ7 be valid for the upcoming 8 ?(because i am very willing to buy (the already installed trial version of) MJ, but I am not experienced enough to use the 8 beta version.)

We recommend that you start with 8.0 now.  It is stable.

Thanks for you reply, like I already said in the message above.
Maybe a dumb question, but which 8 version do you recommend to start with ? Should I go back to the announcement of 8.0.239 and download it from the link there ?

Biirdie,  I saw you question in your other thread about message deletion policy. My message is also missing.  I wrote:

You may want to first play with Version 7. Version 7 will work forever, for free.
Version 8 will lock your computer after 30 days, meaning it becomes useless without your credit card payment. Once you install Version 8, its library is incompatible with Version 7, so no going back.

It is still not clear to me.
Under the "Media Jukebox 8.0.245 beta available" I read that it is still buggy and besides that, that it is now 8.0.246 and not recommended.
What should I do ?

Don Juan, in Carlos Castaneda's book, The Teachings of Don Juan, says (paraphrased) "When in doubt, choose the way with the heart."

Thank you Jim for reviving my knowledge of literature.
After reading all the threads my heart tells me to download and buy version 8.0.239 but as far as I have also read in the same threads it should not be there anymore. Or am I wrong ?

239 was stable.  245 was stable.  246 was not.

Should be another build today.  Wait an hour after it's out and read Interact comments.  Then choose.
