Black area when all columns fit on screen (space on right side of last column)

Moving mouse over "Name" column heading doesn't reset when moving mouse away; other columns do not highlight when doing this. Moving mouse off of contect view resets it.

Scroll bars get messed up when clicking on the file menu and it covers it. Seems as if the player window and tree window get "active" and have borders around the windows. Could be a problem on my end, I'll check later (winfx).

Resizing columns doesn't refresh screen; leaves vertical lines where the column was. Happens with "Name" mostly.

I am super impressed with the way MJ has vastly grown since 7.2. I love it!!

Keep the great MJ work continuing.

Can only get DFX plug-in to work in DSP studio checking any MJ DSP gives "no display available" then checking any other DSP causes MJ crash.

Now try this: Click and hold on top of tree window and drag, the whole tree/play control area moves corrupting the whole MJ window.

I would like to see an option to disable mega-me skinning on WinXP as I use WindowBlinds and don't really need or want it.

Keep up the good work tho nothing more fun than playing with a new beta and watching it evolve:}

I found that when opening the DSP Studio, MJ crashes. It worked on the previous version so I don't think it's me but inform me if it is. My system has been running crappy for a while. I think the reason is my Abit BD7-RAID board. BLAH BLAH BLAH I'm sure you get the point.

That's the word I was looking for, "Evolved." The proper word to use for my 1st post, instead of grown. Thanks Mavrick!

Though it might not need saying, at least for now, I'd suggest diabling WB skinning of the app. It doesn't look very good with it enabled. Next Page

Happens here too. Says "No display available" and when you click on it, MJ crashes.

Just wanted to mention that you can hold on reporting MEGA-ME skinning bugs for a build or so.  We know there's lots of work still to do.

Thanks everyone.

Well,
I've read a few previous posts, so I know I'm not the only one, but I will repeat it once again. The DSP studio crashes MJ as soon as you click on it to adjust anything. There is no display at all for anything other than DFX, could you maybe give us an idea of when this will be fixed?

I am surely not the only one who notices that you can't access the Encoder Plugin Configurations from "Plug in Manager". Is this supposed to be this way?

BTW, Love the blue.

CVIII,

Yes (that is the way it is supposed to be)...read the build 236 release notes.  The Plug-In manager's configure button was not in-sync with the Options > Encoding setting screen (and was confusing).

I am still unable to rip discs, even with the latest build, with my SCSI CD-ROM under Windows 2000. When I hit rip and copy, status says initialzing and just stays there, yet there's no activity on the drive itself. I've tried every variation of settings under options>devices with no luck. I am able to rip using my IDE DVD-ROM dive, but it is much slower and I'd like to get scsi back up.

With or without DFX, when I try to make any changes/selections in DSP Studio, MJ crashes.

Also, the "target" at the top of the tree view seems to "dissappear" until focus is given to the tree view... And there is a "close" X in the upper right corner of the tree view, as if I could "close" the tree view.. Next Page

With regard to the new color scheme: it is VERY difficult to determine if a radio button is "on" or "off" in the settings dialogs..

Request:
When Mega-Me skinning is done, have at least a basic (not-so-blue) skin that is more greyish w/blue highlights...more like old Mega-Me before build 245.  I love skining, but don't want to spend days trying to get basic visual Mega-Me back (I like blue, too).

As is, my quickly modified Mega-Me skin doesn't look good everwhere because the black font (menu) doesn't look good on Blue buttons (Options).  Probably need the ability to specify more font colors throughout (specific to where they are going to be used).

>>>10. Changed: DSP Studio now remembers its last position.

That's all it remembers. One touch and, ZOT, no more MJ.

Noticed in the file under windows explorer that my old view, or skin, is still there. If this was changed to the default would MJ revert back to that scheme? Or is the xml specific to this new skin? I was just going to edit the look with P.S.P, not tackle the code. And I really didn't want to delete the new skin.

You still have to move your mouse over the track position slider in mega-me mode for it to move properly.

Nice skinning : )

Installer : This doesn't shut down Download Manager (and maybe other members of the MJ suite?) before installing. Because of this, DM wasn't updated. I had to shut DM down manually then re-run setup.

Request : Can the fullscreen menu option for enlarged menus be seperate from Internal & mini-me? I want a nice big menu for fullscreen (since I'm most likely across the room using a remote) but not for MEGA-ME or mini-me where I'm most likely sitting at the computer for.

Question : Are you guys planning on making the MEGA-ME skinning a suite-wide (Media Jukebox, Download Manage, Media Editor, Media Scheduler, CD Labeler, Music01 Server) thing, or just MJ? Suite-wide would take longer, but it would do a lot to make MJ feel like a cohesive package.

So far, I'm very impressed. I haven't experienced any problems in relation to the MEGA-ME skinning (yet). And besides the DSP Studio crashes that everybody else is reporting, it's running really nice. Even the grid lines are back and working!

Toggling between full screen view and internal view brings back the old nemesis of not remembering what was selected in either screen. Was working in the last build, for me anyway.

Options button for vis and the like, retains focus after choices are made. Have to click again for highlight to shutoff.

ADDITIONAL  Making a selection from the options button or from right click doesn't refresh info in the quick select bar.

Example - Fireball last vis played. New selection is say, Make It Stop. Changes the vis itself but not the info in the bar below the vis.

MORE All the buttons in the quick select bar for vis', or track info, retain focus after selection is made. Have to off click somewhere to release focus.

In past versions, I was able to right click on Artist/Album and "Add new Artist" or "Add new album". This was intuitive and simple and it was useful for music that I wanted to place in generic album names or generic artist names. When I try that now, all I get is stuff about view schemes. What's the easiest way to add an artist or album now??\
THANKS for a wonderful program!

Ok I gotta ask, why was the disable visualizations option removed? This has bugged me for several builds. Raising the playlist to the top does not really kill it, just watch cpu usage in task manager on XP or 2K. I usually want the vis but occasionally I want to just shut it off.

I'd also like to get to vis studio sometimes without having to start playback.

I have had this on the last 3 beta's now. Can anyone confirm this or is it just my system??

Crashing in kernel32...only in Media Jukebox on my new HTPC machine (I've only used 239 & 245 betas on it though) playing 16/44/1 WAV files in a 800-file playlist.  It seems to crash especially fast if I have visualizations on.  With 245, however, right before the crash I get a C|PLS||PLS| error within MJ, then I click close, then I get the illegal operation in kernel32.

Sorry I can't be more specific at the moment.

My HTPC:
Windows98SE w/IE 5.5 SP2 & DX8.1
AIW 7500 w/latest official ATI drivers
Delta 1010LT soundcard (as the main sound card) using VxD drivers
Audigy Platinum (used only for games)
1.6GHz Pentium4
Asus P4S333-M (SiS645)
512MB Crucial 2100 DDR
Enermax Whisper 350W PS

No overclocking...no lockups in any other program, including MS-WMP 7.1 (I've used it for hours on end, as MJ only lasts 45 minutes, but usually less before crashing).

I will try to get you guys more info about the crashes tomorrow.

(Repost, because of no reactions)

Hi Guys,
I've not reported this earlier, because I thought that someone else already did it (The main reason is actually that I've hardly the time to go through all messages on this forum

1. A really irritating bug is when the last track of the playlist has ended, the program keeps playing the last second of that track over and over. The only way to stop it is to play another item and stop that one.

2. I use moving and Copying of files a lot. When I'm connected to my network at home, there is no problem. So the last action was probably moving a file to the server. Not with a drive letter, but with an UNC.
Being on the road, not connected to the network, I use this feature too and ... It searches first for the non-existing workgroup, before showing the treeview with all maps.

Just thought I'd try the lastest release to see how its getting on,  its been a while since I tested a beta,  and things have certanly changed,  anyways heres my two peneth.

1> Find CD - Defaults to Amazon.com,  id like to see at least an option for amazon.co.uk (possible other countries should be included?).

2> Online content I.E. MJ News from start page doesnt seem to use the proxy details as set in the CDDB registration as it did in previous versions,  thus no new plugins or online content will work.

3> It would be nice to be able to adjust the order of items in the Media library,  I'd like to be able to
choose whether or not Album is first or Artist (personally I prefer artist.)

4> Can we have back the old classic themes (skins),  I was rather liked the old mini me view and it was much more
descrete than the new huge one.

5> Can we also have the old visualizations included in the new version, the classic bars and firestorm bars where
  great.

6> Some of the check boxes and option boxes are no clear as to what is actually selected.

When I say have back,  what I really mean to say is bundled (or at least as a download option)

Any how apart from that its looking really good.

visualisation gets resized properly so my text is above my toolbar.

- Minimize MJ to the System Tray, Double click on the system Tray icon to maximize again, then visualisations are not resized, my text is underneath the
 toolbar.

Brana-

I am still unable to rip discs, even with the latest build, with my SCSI CD-ROM under Windows 2000. When I hit rip and copy, status says initialzing and just stays there, yet there's no activity on the drive itself. I've tried every variation of settings under options>devices with no luck. I am able to rip using my IDE DVD-ROM dive, but it is much slower and I'd like to get scsi back up.

Could you post your system info here? (from MJ's help menu). Also look in device settings and see what the drive type for that cd drive is set to (aspi, ide, auto).

Bug:
1. All too often now when you right-click in MJ, you get 'Analyzing Devices...' and then your right-click is cancelled (not done)...so you have to right-click again.  This bug just started in the last 1 or 2 releases and I think others have reported it too (quite annoying).

Also, grammatically I think it should be "CDs, DVDs & Handhelds" or "CD, DVD & Handheld".

bennyd,
The last comma is optional in a series.  I like it.

When I open the DSP Studio and try to check any of the box's one at a time I get the Default Windows pop up window of a critical error and asks if I would like to send a report and then shuts MJ down. I am currently unable to use any of the features except the default settings from the latest build, previous build was fine in this respect.

On the flip side I think the new look has more appeal, looks more modern. Now has just a touch more pizzaz.

Love The New Mega-Me skin ability.

Problem: Burner control is not fully displayed.

Problem: Can't move seperater bar at bottom of left or right pane.  As in make more room for burner or player control.

Problem (?): can unsnap and move the burner control around.

Problem: Sliders not skinned.

Problem: Context menus not skinned.

Problem: Drop target-mouse over or click it causes it show an x, pressing x causes it to go blank.

Problem: DSP Studio, check nothing, then X for close causes illegal operation, DR.Watson, MJ shutdown.

Problem: DSP Studio, check effects causes illegal operation, DR.Watson, MJ shutdown.

Problem: DSP Studio, no OK, Cancel buttons.

Problem: DSP Studio, "No Display Available"

Problem?: How come MJ does not seem to remember search rules in Media Library?  It would make sense for MJ to remember rules, and allow the user to select from and edit previously written rules.  [No Rule] should also be a selectable rule.

Problem: No tool tips or description in the status bar for the bar at the bottom of the track info window.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: Stick drop target.  An option to have the drop target stay where you put it unless you change it, rather than have it change with every r.click-SendTo.

Request: Double high drop target (skin option?)

Request: As an alternate to (and nicer than, IMO) grid lines: vary background color of alternate lines, like greenbar.

Request: More clinical/helpful/useful spectrum analyzer type visualizations with measurements on X and Y axis for MHz and Db.

CD Labeler: IMHO the labeler just needs a couple of changes to bring it up to snuff:
-Ability to choose the elements in a track listing: Artist, Album, Track number, time, genre.
-Ability to choose the formatting of elements in a track listing: Font, bold/italic, justification, lead and trailing symbols like - or _ or ..... or ) etc.
-Slim case insert (it has a flap on the left edge to fold into the spine)
-Ability to rotate a box to any angle, not just 90, 180, etc.  At least add the 45's
-Add context menus IE r.click on an image should bring up image options, etc.
-Print registration marks. (long, narrow |PLS| removed from the edges of the elements to help cutting.
-The ability to change the layout of the elements (Front cover, back cover, etc) on the printed page.  This would allow the user to define custom layouts, and to match various label layouts.  For instance I like to print my elements near two edges of the page so I only need to make two cuts.
-The ability to make custom elements with new dimensions and printable areas.  EG I like to create a custom back element that is larger than normal to couple with a front element to make a cd envelope (Print on colored heavy stock, nice for gifts, samples, etc)

JohnC-
I am still having trouble trying to burn 2 copies of an audio CD

I can't reproduce this behavior here. It sounds like it's a problem with closing the disc, rather than a multiple copies problem. Can you burn one copy (of the same playlist) ok? Check the auto-insert setting for the drive. Also, check if you're near the capacity of the disc and if so, try removing one track from the playlist to see if that's the problem.

Thanks for checking it out your end. Yes I can make one copy with no problems. Its only when I insert the second disc that MJ crashes. Should Auto insert be on or off?? Mine is set to on. The playlist I am burning is only 58 minutes. Anything else I can try this end??

DLed 245. MJ is aborting in midst of streaming playlist from Music01 (not exceptionally long) showing C|PLS||PLS||PLS|/Kernel32.dll error messages. MS Office Suite (Word 2000, Outlook, Windows Explorer) open, along with Atomica and Hot Sync for Handspring Visor. Haven't tampered with the skins as yet.

Bug...
Operation: Ripping CDs
Behavior: After a few rips in a row, inserting a new CD does not change the CD title under Devices on the drive, but rather, changes "Devices" to the album title.  Additionally, I can no longer right-click (or left-click select) the drive the CD is in.  I usually have to restart MJ to get back functionality.

Drive is a HP 8200|PLS| external

Just a little thing:
The Move/Copy dialog box really needs a button with "New Folder". It's not handy to have to do that seperately within the windows explorer.

I still can't play CD's with digital playback.  It only plays the first 2 seconds then skips to the next track.  This is using Standard for Between Tracks.

Just type in the folder name you want...MJ will create it (and ask you).
