Title: Playlist structure ...
Post by: apostos on January 29, 2013, 10:17:29 am
Some songs are meant to be played in sequence. (Side 2 of the Beatles ‘Abbey Road’ for instance).

To that end, is it possible to have MC play those back (sequentially) within the context of a shuffled playlist? And not lose that structure even if the playlist is re-shuffled?

I thought I responded to this, but apparently not.

Some folks use Cue files for this, or combine tracks into a single one.  I don't know of any other way.

I'd never heard of CUE files. The little reading I did on this site didn't show much promise for its use within MC. I came across this though

7. NEW: Added basic support for FLAC files with embedded CUE files.
which I'll attempt to follow-up on.

To me, this seems like such an obvious feature to have. I'm surprised no one has devised an easy way to achieve it within MC.

Thanks for the info.
