I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly. Are you using theater view ([CTRL]+[4]) or standard view ([CTRL]+[1])? What do you mean by "handle the cover"?

Does it help to do a right click at a playing video and select "detach display" or is this not what you're looking for? With this you should be able to have MCs main window at one monitor and your video display at a second one.

MC18 in theater mode, when I start a song, I would like to see on a monitor cover and the audio track and the other monitor the video of the song all automatically at the start of song

I don't think this is possible in Theater View.

In standard view you can detach the display, drag it to the other monitor to achieve what you want.

but I have to drag each song can be set automatically to all the songs?

What do you mean drag each song?

When I put a list of songs in playing now and maximize detached display view on the other monitor, it stays there and automatically displays each coverart for the track playing.

but I automatically displays the video of the song on the second monitor?

Yes videos would be displayed there too. Like I said, I don't think its possible what you ask but what I suggested is what comes as close as it gets if you ask me.

If I could I would  ;D

But I'm not a developer, I'm just another user like yourself ::).

I don't think this is possible in Theater View.

In standard view you can detach the display, drag it to the other monitor to achieve what you want.

Theater View will use Detached Displays too.

I'm also a bit confused about what you're trying to achieve...  However, if I understand correctly, then yes, you could do it.

Theater View: Monitor A
Detached Display: Monitor B

Play the "song" (which is really a video), and it will play on the Detached Display.  Theater View can be set to "stay where it is" using the Jump on Play settings under Options > Theater View > Behavior, just like it does with music by default.

That would work but as far as I'm aware playing a video won't play it on the other monitor. He wanted his cover art displayed on another monitor than video if I understood him correctly. The same with what I proposed the detached display view would be reused for a video if coverart was being displayed.

Now that I'm thinking about it, would this be possible with zones. Does that allow for 2 detached display windows?

this is what I would do on 2 monitors

Yes.  Each zone can have their own detached display, and they work independently and simultaneously.  I've had 15 of them going at once before on our video wall.

But if you look at the video he posted, I don't think he means what you think he means by "cover art".

I think he just wants Theater View to stay on one monitor, and the video to play on another.  This is easy with a detached display.

yes I want to select the song on a monitor with the cover and the album list and on the other monitor to watch the video of the selected song on the first monitor

Follow this:

0. I'd make a Zone specifically for this use-case, if you will be using this copy of MC in other configurations.
1. Change Options > Theater View > Behavior > Jump on Play (video) to None.  This will keep Theater View exactly where it "is" when you pick a song to play.
2. Play a video file in Standard View.  It doesn't matter which one.  If you made the Zone, make sure you select it before you play.
3. In the Playing Window in Standard View, right click and choose Detach Display.
4. This "pops out" the video into its own separate, resizable window.  You can then drag this window over to your secondary monitor, and double-click on it (or maximize it) to make it go fullscreen.
5. It will remember these settings (window position and fullscreen status) forever as long as you don't resize it again.
6. You can have one separate detached display per Zone.  They work independently, and you can run them simultaneously.
7. With the display detached like this, when you play something from Theater View, it will automatically play to the Detached Display.  Since you set Theater View to not Jump to Fullscreen when you play back, it'll stay where it is, and allow you to browse for something else.

thank you! I'll try and let you know!
you can create a guide to put on this forum, with pictures and explanations for illustration for this function that I asked, maybe other users are affected and may refer to the guide?
