This recent report titled "perfect storm: energy, finance and the end of growth" is written by Tim Morgan, global head of research for Tullett Prebon, one of the largest inter-dealer money brokers in the world.

It is, without doubt, the best report I have ever read, and I read a lot. 

While it does not discuss our environmental problems, it is a near perfect summary of our economic predicament.
