You went to all the effort of signing up, just to be offensive, without even giving us the opportunity to insult you first? Rather inconsiderate of you, don't you think?

Did you know...
Ecologically, good, clean, high-quality organic cow dung is great stuff. (http://www.rangemagazine.com/features/winter-05/cowpie.shtml)

First post, and it's made to state that there's no support. If you asked a question instead, you would have gotten support and realized that your first impression was wrong.

He is of course absolutely correct.

If you never ask a question, then assume that the question that you never asked would not have been answered, then flame the best support vehicle for any software product anywhere, there will of course be no support, for him.

I am sure he will get much more satisfaction by switching to iTunes and asking Apple a question.

Cow dung seems to have more going for it at the moment than horse meat.   :o

When I last visited India, there were many places where the air was smokey from cow dung used as the fuel for everyday cooking by poorer people.   I'm sure there were people who made a living selling it.

---

In reality, you never get "support" from 21st Century corporations, because Customer Are Their Competition (not the other corporations).

I don't think that is true of small companies like JRiver, but then they are too small to diagnose every problem of thousands of customers.

MC18 is $50 for the whole program.  To get a few minutes with a doctor is $100 each time.

I used to provide support for IC design software for the big electronics companies.  This included flying across the country if needed.   We charged about US$200,000 per year for support.

Seriously? You expect people to answer you in under 8 minutes? This smells like a forum troll.

There seems to be a language problem, and possibly a sophistication problem.

In order for JRiver to do well, they have to sell a certain amount of product to people who are not technically sophisticated, and people who are not native English speakers.

Any other person could easily see the words "Getting Started - Tips for New Users" (and also "Is This Support?"), and could navigate the Forum system.

I think we have to agree that this is different type of support and many people are not accustom to it.

The current support is Passive -> the user have to basically find out the answer himself [searching through hundred posts] or post it (... and wait... for mercy... ;)) ) to have it answered.

I have to admit I was little frustrated at the beginning too. Now people here are very friendly and they do know what they doing (big plus), [many times I called regular customer service and just to find out how incompetent people are on the other side]. So at the end it is probably better form of support...
