Title: Noise reduction
Post by: Igor on April 08, 2002, 09:02:18 am
How to reduce noise in tracks recorded from LP's or other non-digital media? Normalize within Transform is not what I want. Cooledit has it - so I suppose it should be in MJ also.

Gidday - Yes there has been a bit of discussion about this & I for one am still pushing hard for it. I consider that MJ is already part way there with their Media Editor, all it needs is the Filters added!!!

Currently you have to use outside software like CoolEdit 2000, Goldwave etc but we have also recently discovered a new one which I & a few others have used called "Wave Purity" ... This link may take you to a previous post of mine;

But if it doesn't, search for "Wave Purity" or "Filter" or "Noise" & you'll see all the other stuff that has been posted on this subject.

But, like me, I'll hope you too will keep pushing MJ to include "Vinyl & Tape Noise Filters" in the future Version 9.

Kindest Regards - Rusty.
