The price is $49.98.
Early versions had 30 day timeouts, so you may need to install a newer version. We suggest keeping your copy up to date.

See the thread near the top of the Mac board that says "JRiver Media Center for Mac 18.0.xxx -- Available Here"
It's good but not perfect yet. If you're not comfortable with helping find the problems, you can read the thread that announces the build to see how we're doing.
Thanks for your interest!

Jim,
Thank you for clarifying what the terms and conditions one may expect. I, personally, appreciate such an open connection for Creator/User so that one can obtain a license in advance and either jump into the mix or wait it out as you admonition those inclined to do so. That in itself shows a respect for your potential user base. I am addicted to Amarra but I am disenchanted with iTunes. I can appreciate that position can easily create a division in priorities. Where we converge is our pursuit of excellence in (anything) rendering music. I am, therefore, open to what ted_b and Paul (you all know which Paul I refer to) who already appreciate what JRiver delivers that someone like myself, ignorant based on having no experience, must become acquainted before making an informed decision. I believe in the world of music rendition (where did music come from originally?) I am neither the final arbiter of what is the best renderer nor do I subscribe to the false impression that there is only one road to Rome, even though we all know The Map Is Not The Territory. That is my criterion and the reason I am on-board with appreciation for all the creativity out there that profits from our patronage but has to deliver to earn it. Happy to be on board at whatever level I am able to receive what JRiver succeeds in delivering.
Best,
Richard

Hi
Is there a cross platform purchase option? I'm thinking of getting MC for OSX 10.8.3 and windows 7 on the same machine

There isn't. Sorry.

I'm looking at an upgrade to my Wyred4Sound DAC which will be able to decode streamed DSD files. Will the MAC version be able to stream DSD native?
Thanks,
Mike

Yes, just like the Windows version.

Wait, so even if I purchased a license for Windows I have to buy another license for my Mac? Even though it's the same computer?
-
Also very disappointed that there is no cross-platform discount. To be honest, I may have to pass on the purchase as a result, I just can't afford that kind of price at this point.

I Googled for "JRiver for Mac" and got nada a couple of weeks ago... just now found this link... five bucks won't kill me, but I would like to pitch for a brief extension of the discount so I can test to see how it works on my system.
