Hello, would be nice to have something like Dolby ProLogic IIx in JRSS for front height speakers. I don't know how IIx and JRSS work and if they do the same thing. But, I have tested music with JRSS 7.1 upsampling and it's great! It fills the front stage very nicely.
I use a Lynx sound card with a group of Musical Fidelity M1 DACs and Adam Artist speakers (if you are looking for a quality surround active speakers setup, they are great!). The latest Oppo 105EU is now a multichannel DAC, too.
I have found this old discussion: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=58109.0 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=58109.0)
An interessant behaviour: "When it's Dolby TrueHD 7.1, it downmixes to 5.1, but when it is DTS HDMA 7.1 it displays 7.1H.". And it will be cool to have DTS HDMA 5.1 -> 7.1H.
