Just starting the film rather than going to the menus would be a great feature.

Why not just rip the main movie and skip the extras (and menu). That saves a bunch of disc space too.
I use SlySoft's CloneDVD program but MakeMKV will do the same for free.

I do value the menu structure and the extras. It gives more of a complete DVD experience. However an option to start the DVD at the feature and only invoke the menu when needed would be superb.
