Title: Mac MC18 autoupdate not working

I am using the latest alpha of MC18 for OSX.
Every time I check for updates through the programme, I get the message "There was a problem checking for updates".
Is this simply a broken part of the alpha?

I am running the auto import with 99% of files coming in without problem.  I've noticed, however, that the first track on some albums is missing in JRiver.  When I look in Finder, the artist folder is there, the album is there, and all tracks are there.  They are all .wav files so there isn't any visible reason for it not to import.  I've even tried to bring it in manually by browsing to the folder and running the import.  Any ideas?
