Title: Windows 8 DRM
Post by: WeeHappyPixie on February 27, 2013, 06:51:54 am
Hi,

I have two machines one Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and the other is Windows 8 Pro x64. Both have the latest MC18, Windows service packs and AnyDVD HD installed.

The problem I have is I cannot get MC18 or any other program to rip audio CD's on the Windows 8 machine yet the Windows 7 machine works fine.

Ripping DVD or BluRay is OK on both. I have tried disabling AnyDVD HD to no avail.

Does Windows 8 have DRM in it?

Thanks

John

I don't think there is any widespread problem with Win8.

This won’t resolve your ripping issues, but I can tell you that I’ve had no difficulty ripping CD’s at all.

This is on a Win 8 (64 bit) install using dBpoweramp to accomplish the feat.

Thanks guys.

I'm wondering if its some of the pre installed HP stuff that came with my laptop. Might format it at weekend with plain win 8 pro without all the other junk and see how it goes.

Disks were my Jean Michel Jarre which I've ripped loads of times before on Win 7. I had disk failure and my controller screwed up so need to re rip everything.

Yes get the pre installed junk off your laptop.
