Title: What does "Get cover art" exactly do?

When doing Auto-import, in the end it is getting cover-art when the option is activated.

What exactly is happening then?
Does it overwrite covers stored inside my files?
Where does it get the covers from?

It still will not let me get stored cover art files from the iMac...
