Title: BSOD on Library Maintenance
Post by: chasrome on April 04, 2002, 03:25:44 pm
Repeatable -- Try to change artist for a number of records at same time get BSOD.  Must reboot to get any programs working right.

Answers?  Patch?

Win98SE on Dell Dimension 866 Creative SB Live (sort of vanilla stuff)

I found this on my own.

Wouldn't it be cool if all that registration info we have to put in (including product id & version) were linked to user names in the forum?  Some folk actually know how to do this!

The BSOD in this sit is caused by changing properties for a group of records where one of the files is no longer in the libaary (uncool to impose the death penalty for this).  To avoid, just run the Update Library utility and be sure to check the Remove Files box (unchecked by deault!) in the Clean Up section.  I see a lot of posts over Ver 8 -- Sure would be nice if ver 7 was finished first, eh?

Sloppy as it is, this is still best music db librarian I have ever seen but if you want to get into prime time you folks need to pay more attention to details.

Good luck to you.

Regards
Charles Romer

Charles,
The Blue Screen of Death is a Microsoft feature -- not something that Media Jukebox can do.
