Title: Xonar Essense STX using Digital and Analogue

Has anyone successfully set up J River using an Asus Xonar STX to play music as Analogue out, 2 Channel video as analogue and multi-channel video out in the digital format its stored as?

So for all my music I will play it as analogue out.

All video to playback via SPDIF or (since digital is just passthru) HDMI  (graphics card)

any help with this would be much appreciated.

To do this you setup two zones and name one "2 Channel" or "Audio" and the other "Multi-channel" or "Movies." For each zone you go to Tools > Options > Audio > Audio Output and set the output and audio device that you will use for each zone.

Once you have your zones setup, you can use ZoneSwitch (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=76605.0) to have your media automatically play to each zone base on whether it is music or movies.
