Hey guys,
I am trying to record some vinyl. I have the turntable hooked up to the preamp, and going to the computer line in using RCA to 3.5mm jack out of the tape out. I engaged the line-in on the computer ( Dell XPS desktop running windows Home 7 Premium) and was able to listen to the signal and adjust the level (70% sounded good).
But, I can't get JRiver 18 to record. When I go to tools>advanced and hit record, nothing happens. Nothing!
According to the wiki, I should be seeing some options dialogue.
What do I do from here?

Line in recording isn't working for all version of MC since 18.0.90. They did some code change there which leads to some... problems. More about this there (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=76122.0).

Ah, thanks much!

You might want to consider a vinyl recording solution like NAD PP3 with VinylStudio. It gives a lot of help when you split the recording into individual songs and tagging as well.
As I do not know if you would be satisfied with the sound quality when recording LineIn in a computer, I do not think it is getting near HI-FI quality.
