Title: Web Media?
Post by: Mike48 on March 11, 2013, 01:20:44 am
Dear Experts,

I am trying to add radio stations to MC18. I added a dozen stations under 17, and they all went away when I upgraded from 17 to 18. Probably something I did wrong, but frustrating nonetheless.  I don't remember exactly what I did to add them to 17, but I do remember it involved several steps and plenty of fiddling.

The Wiki information I can find dates from 2006 & refers to something called the Web Media page. Is that what now appears in the tree under Connected Media > My Connected Media? Or something else?

The Wiki also implies that via the Web Media Page there is access to all Internet radio stations added by all MC users. Is that still available? How?

Assuming I can figure out the URL of an Internet radio station, how can I add it to MC in such a way that (1) it is stored permanently on disk, (2) is backed up, either when I back up my audio files or my MC library, (3) can be selected as easily as a local audio file, and (4) is made available by the MC DLNA server to DLNA control points and renderers?

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

I seem to have figured most of this out.

The only thing I haven't figured out is, what happened to "Web Media"?

It was moved to Audio > Connected Media > My Connected Media, etc.

Thanks, MrC!  So the list of radio stations has been discontinued?  Or I've just overlooked it?

Not surprising if discontinued -- URLs seem to change constantly, which would make any list a mess.

I think they have been removed.  I haven't used them in so long, I can no longer remember how MC used to look in this area.  I have a vague recollection of some stock stations.
