Title: JRiver would not start - so uninstalled - then reinstall stops working
Post by: Berwhale on March 12, 2013, 01:24:23 am
Could you help me with - I had issues with my Win7 installation - and JRiver would not start. So I uninstalled - or thought I did - I used Revo Uninstaller. Now when I try to install again the installer gets hungup on "upgrading from previous version" and stops working. Now I can't use it let alone install it.

Cheers
Title: Can't install JRiver due to broken previous installation

My installation of JRiver MC18 is broken. I had an issue with Windows then couldn't open MC18 - so tried to uninstall. I thought I'd done that. Now I cannot reinstall MC18 as it gets hungup then crashes as it's "upgrading previous version" - which there shouldn't one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!

What version are you trying to install?  Where did you get it?  The latest build is at the top of the MC18 board.

Your Revo uninstaller may have damaged the registry.

If you're using a registry cleaner, don't.

Yes the registry is a bit stuffed.

Any suggestions?

OK I think I've sorted - deleted references to JRiver etc and then imported a backup registry. Worked now so far.
