Title: How do I listen to all my music on random without non-music?
Post by: Tweet on March 24, 2013, 06:27:52 pm
I would like to list to random music from my entire library. How do I exclude podcasts, ebooks, and soundclips without doing a manual removal of these each time? Do I have to build a playlist everytime, deselecting non-music and adding all the new songs in the last week? (who has time for that?) I generally add a few hundred songs and a half dozen+ podcasts to the library each week, so always adding or removing individual files will make me hate this program.
Sorry I am newer to the program, and haven't found where this solution is through playing or in the forums. Any help is much appreciated.

Use Play Doctor (on the main player window).

Configure its Options, and set the Rules for file display.

See the attached screenshots.

Enter a "seed" value to start playing, or empty to be entirely random.

Thank you for the suggestion. I made the modifications you suggested. BUT, when I leave the play doctor blank and just hit enter, it brings up just 2 genres? Bass and Dubstep (Not my favorites by a long shot)

I didn't forget about your question here.  I ran into a problem trying to reproduce your results, so hang in there until the dev's have been able to isolate and reproduce the issue too.
