Hi, I'm trying to connect JR MC18 to an MDAC for audio, via my Win 7 pro64. PC. Via USB.
No matter what I do ASIO/WASAPI/WASAPI event style, all read no changes made- not a direct connection. though last week on MC 17 the audio path button illuminated blue (noire skin)
PC wise I have set the MDAC as default device, turned up the vol to max. disabled all enhancements and ticked the open for exclusive access box.
Having spent all last week jumping through hoops, finally resorting to uninstalling MC17 and installing MC18 to no avail (loosing the chronological order of my library in the process :'() I am at a loss where to find any hoops to jump through this week !
Help ! thanks in advance.

You can restore an MC17 library in MC18. MC makes them automatically.
Double check what is going on in DSP Studio.

DSP settings.
Volume-disabled
Bitstreaming-none
Pre buffer-6 secs.
Sample rate-all no change
Bitdepth-source bitdepth (on the MDAC forum someone said this needs to be set at 24 bit, have tried)
channels-2 channel stereo
Mixing-none.
Output format- (seems to enable itself even when I disable it) enabled and processing.

Double-check your setting for exclusive output (Options > Audio > Output mode settings). It's only considered a direct connection with that enabled.

Problem solved, many thanks.
I should have realised that a cross in a box is the same as a tick !!
I assumed that as other checkboxes show a tick when enabled, that a cross represents disabled..
Silly me.

I assumed that as other checkboxes show a tick when enabled, that a cross represents a negative..
That's the second time somebody told me this was confusing in the last week.
Maybe we should change the default Noire skin?

No just all ticks or all crosses would be fine :-X
Anway I am now receiving bit perfect 16/44.1 and 24/ 96 into my MDAC (according to MDAC bit perfect test files) :) :) :)
If only I could regain the chronological order to my library which was lost in the process !

Hi, I have just as of yesterday downloaded your software as by all accounts it gives a cleaner sound than my previous player.
I have done the bit perfect test via my mdac and during the test it indicates the data is accurate, but when it completes the test, its saying it fails.
Can I ask how are your tests the same or are they indicating a pass at the end of the test, thanks in advance and I hope I am not hijacking the thread.
