Title: Someway to get volume control for JR18 with DSD files?
Post by: sjoc2000 on March 27, 2013, 08:49:58 am
Don't like preamps, and use JR to control volume per "internal" volume setting.  Recently purchased a Mytek 192 DSD, and have been trying to figure out how to get volume control without the JR Audio engine and the Dac set to bypass for DSD/DFF files.  Not having any luck.  Am I missing something, any tricks up anyone sleeves?  :0)

By definition, volume control is impossible when bitstreaming.

So you can either use PCM output to enable volume and any other DSP, or you can bitstream and use a hardware volume.

Someday (v19+) we may offer realtime DSD output that takes any PCM and sends DSD to the DAC (for if the DAC is better at handling DSD).

No tricks Matt, darn...    :-\

Thanks for the response.  Will look forward to any progress made with this problem in #19
