Title: Elusive zone setting...

I’m using Media Center in 'Theatre View'.
MC Version: 18.0.154

I have 4 zones. Zone I (Main), Zone II (Playlists), Zone III (Images) & Zone IV (RX-A3000)

The plan (so far):

   Zone I (Main) used to play all audio/video (excluding any/all playlists) without any alteration to source
   Zone II (Playlists) used to play any selected audio playlists using replay gain settings
   Zone II (Images) used to play images only
   Zone IV (RX-A3000) no settings

Expressions created and used by Media Center:

Zone I:‘-playlistid==1361956,=264437661,=42487240,=726986956,=899155501,=114864646,

            Syntax – ‘Playlists is not any -  Imported Playlists; Smartlists; etc.; etc.; etc.’
Played in:  Zone I (Main)
Zones excluded: Zone II (Playlists), Zone IV (RX-A3000)

Zone II:  ‘[Media Type]=[Audio]’
               ‘playlistid==605395731,=284576107,=223715265,=899155501,=253044467’
               Syntax – ‘Playlists is any – Jazz; Blues; Rock; etc.; etc.; etc.’
Played in:  Zone II (Playlists)
Zones excluded: Zone I (Main), Zone IV (RX-A3000)

Zone III:  ‘[Media Type]=[Image]’
Played in:  Zone III (Images)
Zones excluded: none

Zone IV: (RX-A3000) no settings

ZoneSwitch order (top down): Zone I (Main), Zone II (Playlists), Zone III (Images), Zone IV (RX-A3000)

So… everything appears to work with the exception of the ‘Zone I (Main)’ rule. I’m unable to play an album (selected from ‘Album View’) in this zone. MC appears to treat any album I select as a playlist, directs playback to Zone II and engages the replay gain settings for that zone. I’ve tried a number of different rule settings but the result is always the same. Playback defaults to Zone II.

What am I doing wrong?

Since a primary basis of the switching is your list of playlists, and we can't see the exact rules, only speculation is possible.

Maybe the album is included in one of the zone 1 playlists/smartlists.

You’re right… too many possibilities. I’ve just spent another hour or so trying every possible rule combination/sequence I could come up with. No success whatsoever. I’m sure it’s likely to be something ‘simple’. But, right now,  I can’t see it…

Back to manual switching. At least for now…
