Title: MC slow
Post by: laerm on March 28, 2013, 02:06:42 pm
Hi gang –

So the MC Mac excitement has kept me off Windows for a while, but firing up MC today, I let it update itself, and WOW is it laggy and slow. I have restarted and uninstalled and so on and, once every few minutes, processor use for MC shoots up over 85% and then the audio gets slow and glitchy and the UI becomes unresponsive, right down to the mouse going very slow.

Is there a way to do a trace or dump of processor logs or something for you guys? I keep an eye on Task Manager and there's never any other program that gets over 10%. In fact, I only have a few things running there while I work on a different machine.

Thanks –
Micah

That's not something we're seeing.

Try rebooting or reinstalling and rebooting.

Make sure you have 18.0.158 installed.

If you still have a problem, provide a few more details about your system.

Make sure your virus checker isn't checking every media file every time it's opened.

That kind of behavior is almost always Anti-Virus being troublesome.

Read this post (most of the rest of that thread isn't relevant, but the anti-virus stuff probably is): http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=79185.msg539323#msg539323
