Title: Internet Radio
Post by: Philthy on March 28, 2013, 02:32:13 pm
I have not used MC for Windows, so I am oblivious to what it can do, and I understand the OSX version is alpha status.

What is the status of listening to internet radio stations such as ShoutCast, Pandora, Spotify, random station thing I haven't heard of yet, etc? What should we eventually expect when complete? Are these features controllable via Webgizmo / JRemote?

You should be able to play MP3 and AAC based radio streams.

Pandora is Shockwave based and locked down.  Ask Pandora to release an SDK.  Or use Last.fm, which has a nice SDK we support natively.

What about MOG or Spotify?  Are they possible?  Or similar to Pandora?

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Matt,

can you please explain me how I manage it to play Internet-Radio Streams.
I use to open  MC18(MAC) under File->Open Stream. This opens up a window where I type in a valed Stream-URL.
I save this and I checked the check-box "Play Stream". I also checked the check-box to store in my Web-Media Folder. After hitting the OK-Button nothing happens and also I can't see it in in my WEB-Media foder.javascript:void(0);
What am I doing wrong. Or does'nt it work with the MAC-Version (.164)?

Best regards and hope for an answer

Hi John,

for example this URL does'nt work: http://ndrstream.ic.llnwd.net/stream/ndrstream_ndr2_hi_mp3

or this one doesn't work: http://sj256.hnux.com (Smoothjazz.com)

I have a lot more. I don't use .pls I only use mp3 links (.pls usualy don't play with eLyric Music Manager the programm I normaly use (but I want to replace it by JRiver MC))

Best regards
Jayla

I think we'll have a fix for this soon.  Thanks for the sample streams.

Are there any plans of adding MOG to JRiver. Then my question for the JRemote folks would be managing MOG from JRemote.
