Title: Media Player 9 for XP killed MJ
Post by: nerdseyeview on March 08, 2003, 02:56:17 am
I downloaded Microsoft's Media Player 9 for XP.  The following day when I tried to start MJ 8 it wouldn't work.  It would start to load then hang up to the point I had to kill the process in task magager.  I reinstalled and nothing changed.  I downloaded a new MJ and nothing changed.  How can I get MJ to work again?  Media Player 9 cannot be uninstalled without wiping the OS, as far as I can see.

Before installing Wmp9 you have to create a restore point, without this you can't uninstall wmp9.

MJ8 is not compatible with wmp9 , meaning all things MJ used to see movies not working anymore, i think that MC9 is compatible with wmp9.

JRiver Media Center will work.  You can get it here:

Check this section to see if your MJ8 license will work with it.
