I don't understand why but I have run out of ideas for troubleshooting. EVERYTHING works on my end.
I can connect via DLNA in a pre-installed generic "Video Player" app on my Galaxy S3, I can connect in Gizmo IF I manually specify an IP address and port. So the service is clearly running.
However I simply cannot connect anymore using an access key. And now I can't even get a new access key for my desktop which I was testing on... Which completely ruins the point of allowing remote access :(
I have tried everything, disabled firewalls, put the PC in the DMZ. Nothing has changed on my HTPC yet I turned that on and load MC - and I Can't connect there either.
I very much doubt port 80 is being blocked as my Internet works just fine and dandy. Nothing has changed really.
Please tell me sometimes the Library server just "has access issues" ??

The Std config for the MC port is 52199 - I tried to upload a pic for how I've configured my router's Port Forwarding to match the MC settings but for some reason it did not work

Hi everybody!
same problem here: Yesterday everything was OK. No system changes since yesterday. Today I tried to connect gizmo (home wifi): gizmo asks for the access key. Testing the connection key in MC I get the following message:
"Library server could not be registered with JRiver. You need a connection to the internet and it can not block outgoing http connections from Media center."
Playing Music directly in MC works fine, internet and WIFI connection is also fine. I updated to the recent version of JRiver: No changes. I also use the 52199 TCP port.
Is there a poblem with the server?
Kind regards
System: Win 7-32 Bit / recent version of Gizmo and JRiver

We'll check.

Same problem here in the UK. Gizmo not working and asking for an access key. I cannot test connection to the server. I get the "Library Server could not be registered etc"..
-
I have same problem ?
As I am working as an IT technician I first checked everything else (firewall, LAN etc.) but everything else is working just fine.
I have a streamer-setup with a Windows 8 computer running JRiver and everything was working just fine yesterday.
But today I cannot connect with my phone(s) or tablet - a reset of the library server did not work either.
Then I tried to install JRiver on two different Windows 7 computers (32/64) and same problem: "Library Server could not be registered with JRiver".
It does seem like a pretty bad single point of failure if it is necessary to connect to a JRiver server everytime you want to use the remote functions of JRiver.
Even though I must say it is the first time I am experiencing problems in my almost daily use of the JRiver remote system...
Hoping for a solution soon :)

I just updated Media Center to version 18.0.158. I lost my capability to connect to my media server. It was working fine until I installed the update. I have tried everything except installing the older version. Please help.

same here in UK, fine yesterday, and now no gizmo to any of my pcs, laptops, no library acces from laptop to other pc. tried everything.
Tried WEBGIZMO as well, but not working.

Hi All,
Same here in Japan.
I understand that it is a server registration issue
But, like danielloka, I am wondering how it works when you have a closed network (home audio/video only network without internet connection).
Does it means that we cannot use Gizmo in such conditions? Weird, no?
Thank you to clarify.
Regards
Kami

Dear JRiver Team!
It works!
Many thanks - we should not forget that it is sunday and Easter holidays! Your fast support is far away from beeing self-evident!
Happy Easter to you all!

Hi,
Yes it was working again the last time I tested it (a few hours ago). Hopefully it will stay that way.
For those wondering about closed Networks, instead of entering an access key, enter the IP address and port of your computer running MC.
i.e : 192.168.1.199:5900 is how I direct it to my current test setup in absence of a key.
It would only become a single point of failure if you were trying to access from the Internet / outside of your LAN. From what I can tell that's all the access key does, is provide name resolution to your WAN IP and port. So perhaps even in those cases if you know your current WAN IP, you could try that instead of the access key as well.

Confirmed.
Went outside and switched to 4G LTE, put in an entry for my external IP address and port number and it connected to my server and played just fine.

Sorry for the problem. Thanks to John and the team for getting it going again on a holiday.

Thanks for the quick work in sorting the problem.

Thank you JRiver and Neco!
Everything works fine and I (& wife) can now still use Gizmo when I fiddle with my internet connection...

Gone again....keeps going everyday, using gizmo, then its okay the next day, for a bit. Getting a little annoying tbh. Very unreliable. I have to use unified remote to control it, and works perfectly, that was free. Gizmo has never been that reliable tbh :'(.
-
And again.....sat night trying to listen to elbow.......and wait.....I cant work gizmo
-
Weak wireless connection?

Weak wireless connection?
might be, but I noticed a strange thing. I took gizmo off my phone, reloaded and now (for the past 3 days) has worked fine, but Unified remote has stopped working. Could they be clashing somehow?
