Title: Question about importing

Hi, new user here, learned about JRiver just yesterday. The first thing that happened after installing was an automatic import, which I cancelled because I already have my music on a NAS (about 1 TB worth) and didn't want the program copying it up to my laptop. But is that what the Import function does? And if so, can I just point the program to my NAS and avoid importing altogether? Thanks.

Welcome.  Import won't move the files.  You can set up whatever options you want under Tools/Import/Auto Import.  Add a directory and Edit it for filetypes you want.
