Title: .m4r files
Post by: duck on April 04, 2013, 07:44:05 am
Is there any chance of .m4r (Apple ringtones) files being recognised in Media Canter 18?

Welcome.

I don't know much about m4r files.

If you rename one of the files to M4A, does it work?  I'm wondering if they're just a regular MP4 audio file with a different extension.

I think they have to be .m4r for iphone to recognise them as ringtones. Not a biggie, would just be another reason to avoid iTunes.

Does MC recognize and play them if you rename them .m4a?

If so, adding support would be easy.

Yes, m4a plays fine.
