Title: Apologies -- some very basic questions
Post by: crisp on April 04, 2013, 11:41:05 am
Hi there. These probably seem very basic, but I can't find the answers I'm afraid.

First, tagging: I'm ripping to FLAC using XLD. I'm editing the metadata in XLD, then refining it and adding extra data (composers especially) in JRiver. Will all the tagging I do in JRiver for Mac be saved to the FLAC files?

Second, is there a way of telling which version of JRiver 18 I have?

And last (for now!), can I download the latest version before the 30-day time-out period is up? Or does it just update to the latest version automatically?

Second, is there a way of telling which version of JRiver 18 I have?

On the top bar, go to "Help" (far right), then on the pull down menu go to "About Media Center" and a small window will appear that, along the top bar, will tell you what version you are using....

Thanks John

Can anyone help on the other two queries please?

Yes, tags are saved to the files.

Yes, you can download the latest during your trial. It's not automatic (yet).

The default is to save the tags to the file, but you can change that in "Tools / Options / General / Update tags when file info changes"
