Title: Multiple rip processes on 18.0.158
Post by: patricklang on April 06, 2013, 10:19:00 pm
Just got back from the store with a new stack of CDs to rip, and it looks like there's still a slight problem with simultaneous encoding processes.

I set it to encode simultaneously while ripping, and set 2 ripping processes.  I have 2 Plextor drives hooked up using 1394.  I dropped a CD in each, clicked "start rip", and both ripped.

When the first disc finished, I put another in, but ripping didn't start.  If I go to the drive status - there's a "cancel rip" button, but no "start rip" button.

Once both drives are done ripping - I can then hit "Start rip", but only one will start.

I'm going to see if going back to no simultaneous encode, 2 max ripping processes, 4 max encoding processes, 4 total processes and see if that resolves the issue.

Yep - it's working with separate processes.  It started ripping the 3rd disc automatically after starting the first 2 rips with the new settings.

Could you try build 164?

When one disc is already ripping, you should be able to right-click the drive that's not ripping and pick 'Start rip'.

It's too hidden, and JohnT (our ripping guy) is hoping to improve this in a future build.
