I try to control MC with an external device called Shuttle Pro from Contourdesign (http://retail.contourdesign.com/?/products/23).
But MC refuses to accept keypresses and clipboard contents (via CMD-V) sent from external applications.
Another example is the well known app TextExpander.
I can’t get text snippets into MC where every other application accepts these.
Also clipboard contents sent from AppleScripts is ignored by MC (simulated keypresses do work here, CMD-V doesn't).
Copy and paste from within MC is working, however.
I think that’s a bug.
