I upgraded to the newest version of JRiver for Mac yesterday, and I cannot get my Access Key (MgltRT) to allow me to connect to JRemote. Always says "Connection Failure." Any ideas? All I used to have to do is click on Access Key MgltRT on the Tools/Options menu, then click "Test connection to this server, and then it would connect with my iPhone JRemote app. No longer.

Sorry for the trouble.
Just to be sure, are you using 18.0.169?
Anyone else seeing this?
Thanks.

Even after entering new code I rec'd via email [Access key removed by JimH], iPhone JRemote now says, "Access code verified, but no connection was made."

Yes, I am using 18.0.169

Don't post your Access Key.
Take a look at the "Network Access (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Network_Access)" topic on our wiki. It may be a firewall or routing problem.

We're able to connect with Gizmo (which should be the same) to build 169 for Mac on our side.
If anyone else could test the Mac version 169, it would be appreciated.

I wasn't able to connect w/an access key on my trials, but could with an IP.
When I try to reset the access key, or click on it, I get a message stating that Library Server has failed to start. Doing this enough times will produce an new Access Key dialog eventually.
But there are some problems with dialog Z order and multiple instantiations of the modal dialog that appears when you click Access Key. Many modal dialogs will appear, and sometimes a new Access Key dialog may appear underneath others (then Options dialog repaint problems occur).
The first time the new Access Key dialog appear, MC crashed shortly afterwards.

Can't be a firewall, etc problem since it worked perfectly before and nothing has changed on my end.

You can't rule out a firewall problem.

It's possible it's the same URL validation problem that's been causing trouble these last days.
If someone could send a log to logs at jriver dot com showing JRemote fail to connect, it might help.
Otherwise, we'll try for ourselves on Thursday once Bob is in with his iPhone.

I tried to reproduce, but it worked this time. However, a crash upon playback occurred. Link emailed.

In my case if I turn authentication on, to facilitate syncing, with the username and password in JRemote. The restart MC, no connection is made. As soon as I turn authentication off, it connects instantly. This has been the case with every build up to and including build 169.
OSX10.8.3, Build 169, J Remote on iPod Touch & iPhone 4S

One of my problems may be operator error. This is how I've been trying to connect to JRemote (it always worked before 189):
1. Open JRiver app on Mac.
2. Open Tools/Options and click on "Access Key," which has an access key appearing there.
3. Open JRemote on iPhone.
4. I automatically connects
Is this procedure correct?
Thanks.

Please use the JRemote thread:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=79104.0
The instructions should tell you how to enter the Access Key in JRemote.

Just a little note to say JRemote is working here on Mac with authentication enabled.
