Title: Memory leak?
Post by: Niek on April 22, 2013, 02:03:32 pm
After the previous leak had been fixed (in 156, I believe) MC was very modest with its memory use. Values around 80MB we the norm.

With 168 I see memory use going up again to 370MB (and counting)

Anyone noticed the same issue?

Yes I saw that too.  But right now it's running at 172MB and using less than 1% of the available CPU.  Its been running for 2 hours, more or less, 'error free' with only one or two multi-second pauses.

EDIT: Oh yeah I'm running on 169 and it went sideways some where around 3 hrs of run time.  I then re-started the app and the network connection came up fairly quickly (≈1-2 minutes).

AND I must say that running on the media network is sonically MUCH superior to USB (at least on the PWDII).

Yeah, the stability is quite OK actually; I haven't had a single crash with 168 for over more than a week.

The memory increase has been very gradual (but steady) over the same period.

Have now installed 169 and will monitor for the next couple of days.

Having monitored 169 for 6 days and memory is indeed going up slowly but steadily. (178MB)

The application is rock solid and I start to appreciate it more and more. I'm now up to point where I'm about to give up Media Monkey because MC offers all tag and artwork management I require. Goodbye Windows!  :-*

Just installed 174 and will monitor again.
