Title: Tagging Help
Post by: xj32 on April 24, 2013, 01:10:23 am
Sorry if this has been covered, but when I buy tracks on HD tracks and such each track comes as:

01 Song Title
02 Next Song
03 So On

Is the a command to get rid of the numbers in the track names?

Thanks,

Paul

If the [track #] field is already filled in, all you need to do to get rid of the numbers in the name field, is select the affected tracks, then, in the tag window, where the name field proclaims [Varies], click, then enter all of the following brown text: =removeleft([name],3)

Press the enter key, and hey presto, job done.

More on "removeleft" and other tricks you can pull can be found Here (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Media_Center_expression_language#RemoveLeft.28....29:_Trims_characters_from_the_start_of_a_value)

Edit: Just noticed that this is in the 'Mac' arena. I have absolutely no idea if this will work at the moment. Someone will clarify shortly, I'm sure.
